My favorite musical is Waitress. As an avid listener to Sara Bareilles’ pop music, I loved the integration of her contemporary pop style in this musical. Waitress also features characteristics of country music and the combination of music theatre, pop, and country genres are thoughtfully intertwined demanding a wide range from the actors. Waitress shows authenticity and grace in the story and the music.
